GIORGIO MORANDI (RECYCLED), 2013
This body of work is the reproduction of some of Giorgio Morandi’s still life paintings, using recycled objects in order to highlight the different between these (plastic bottles, packages, cans…) and the ones he used. Besides recycling rubbish, this project also recycles the idea or the way in which the painter approaches creation: Morandi comes up to painting with the mere desire to paint, most of the times with the only purpose of analysing the light. In this sense, he does not need to paint anything else than what he has around him, at home or in his studio. In the same way, I use everyday or discarded objects with the simple interest in photographing, as an exercise of observation, focusing on composition or aesthetics.
