RECIPES, 2015

Everybody shows what they eat and consume with an aesthetic that is never spontaneous or naïve, but absolutely constructed, with more or less skill, for the image; a symptom of the artistic capitalism that Gilles Lipovetsky talks about: the aestheticization of the everyday life and the lifestyles shown and fomented through images on the internet and social media, meaning that we consume styles rather than goods. For this series, I have photographed the food that was left in a house after their occupants moved into another place, and used the resulting images as ironic illustrations of very basic recipes whose mains ingredients are the very unappealing photographed ones, with a vibrant and flashy style.
